About the Lecture
This lecture offers an introduction to how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can enhance research processes by improving the way data is managed, processed, and analysed. It explores the role of AI in working with various types of research data and addresses common challenges such as large datasets, data quality issues, and limited time.
The session demonstrates how AI can support key stages of research, including data preparation, exploratory analysis, and machine learning, as well as the analysis of qualitative data through methods such as natural language processing and computer vision. It also showcases practical tools and platforms that help researchers automate workflows, extract insights, and increase overall efficiency.
Finally, the lecture examines important ethical considerations, current limitations, and emerging trends, highlighting the need for responsible and effective integration of AI into contemporary research practices.
About the Speaker
Dr Al Qudah is an associate professor at the University of Jordan. She has over fourteen years in the academic field. She specialised in data analytics, applied AI, personalisation, and adaptation of user behaviours and models over the web using AI. She graduated with a PhD from the University of Warwick and her MSc from the University of Sunderland, UK. Dr Al Qudah has over 30 publications in the domain of applied AI and data analytics. Her recent publications focused on natural language processing, working on sentiment analysis for the Arabic language. Dr Al Qudah has been active in the domain of quality assurance and international accreditations. She has been involved in international projects such as Erasmus+, and she has also developed many curricula in relation to her field, such as Business Intelligence, Smart Decision Support Systems and AI and Data Science courses. She has successfully supervised many postgraduate students in her domain. She is also affiliated with WestCliff University (USA) as a dissertation chair of the Business Intelligence and data analytics program.
