Institute Français Proche Orient (IFPO), in partnership with the Centre for International Studies (CERI), Sciences Po, the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL)-Amman Institute, and the Arab Centre for Research-Amman, are organising a conference entitled “Energy Across Scales: City, Transition, Region.”
The conference’s public sessions will explore three main themes: energy in the urban context—covering everyday life, populations, and mobility; renewable energy and the challenges of the transition away from fossil fuels; and the political economy of energy, examining the reshaping of the Arab region through gas, electricity, and renewable energy networks. The program will also feature a discussion on the challenges facing Jordan’s renewable energy sector.
Bringing together specialists, researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders from Jordan, France, and Lebanon, the conference will provide simultaneous interpretation into Arabic for presentations delivered in English.
The conference is open to specialists, members of the public, and all those with an interest in the subject. The three morning sessions will be held at IFPO, Jabal Amman (Third Circle), while the evening session will take place at the Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL), Jabal Al-Weibdeh.
