Call for papers
You are warmly invited by The University of Jordan (UJ), the IFPO, CBRL, GPIA and ACOR to submit an abstract (up to 150 words) by 24 July 2026 for the tenth
“Heritage and Archaeology Diwan”
Ancient Civilisations and Material Culture in Jordan
which aims to raise awareness of research in archaeology and heritage in Jordan.

يسرّ الجامعة الأردنية والمعهد الفرنسي للشرق الأدنى ومجلس الأبحاث البريطانية في بلاد الشام والمعهد الألماني البروتستانتي للآثار والمركز الأمريكي للأبحاث، دعوتكم لإرسال “ورقة ملخص” قبل تاريخ 24 تموز 2026، على أن لا تتجاوز 150 كلمة، وذلك للمشاركة في فعالية المنتدى العاشر
“ديوان التراث والآثار”
الحضارات القديمة والثقافة المادية في الأردن
الذي يهدف الى زيادة الوعي بالبحث في علوم الآثار والتراث في الأردن
سيعقد “ديوان التراث والآثار” العاشر في
الجامعة الأردنية، عمّان

Diwan 10 – Abstract Submission Form
The call is open for graduation projects, postgraduate theses and ongoing research, specifically targeting students and researchers in the early stages of their research journey. Priority will be given to those who have graduated within the past five years, as well as to individuals who have not previously participated in Diwan events.
The paper topics must tackle one of the following themes:
- Archaeological Finds
- Presentation and Interpretation
- Trade and Exchange
- Conservation and Restoration
- Ancient Technologies
We welcome abstract submissions (preferably in English) for participation in the Diwan, either as an oral presentation of no more than 10 minutes, or as a poster to be displayed throughout the event. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Diwan organisers.

الدعوة مفتوحة لمشاريع التخرج وأطروحات الدراسات العليا والأبحاث الجارية وهي مخصصة للطلبة والباحثين في مرحلة مبكرة من مسيرتهم البحثية. تُعطى الأولوية لمن تخرجوا خلال السنوات الخمس الأخيرة، بالإضافة إلى الذين لم يسبق لهم المشاركة في فعاليات ديوان السابقة

الإكتشافات الأثرية –
العرض والتفسير –
التجارة وشبكات التبادل –
حفظ وترميم التراث الثقافي –
التقنيات القديمة –
نرحب باستقبال الملخصات (ويُفضل أن تكون باللغة الإنجليزية)، سواء على شكل عرض تقديمي لا تتجاوز مدته 10 دقائق، أو بوستر علمي يُعرض طوال فترة انعقاد الفعالية. سيتم مراجعة جميع الملخصات من قبل منظمي ديوان لاختيار المشاركات المناسبة

About the Diwan
Since March 2018, the IFPO, CBRL, GPIA, and ACOR, in cooperation with the Department of Antiquities and Jordanian Universities, initiated an event – “Salon” or “Diwan” or “table ronde” – to increase awareness of research on heritage and archaeology in Jordan. It aims to include students and fresh graduates to discuss the latest developments and themes in archaeology and heritage practice in association with invited specialists. Suggested topics could be cultural heritage, archaeological studies, conservation, documentation, sites and museums management, architectural and urban heritage, etc.
لمحة عن ديوان
منذ آذار 2018 ، بادرت العديد من المؤسسات في الأردن مثل المعهد الفرنسي للشرق الأدنى ومجلس الأبحاث البريطانية في بلاد الشام والمعهد الألماني البروتستانتي للآثار والمركز الأمريكي للأبحاث بالتعاون مع دائرة الآثار العامة وجامعات أردنية بإطلاق فعالية “ملتقى” أو “ديوان” أو “طاولة مستديرة” تهدف إلى زيادة الوعي بالأبحاث المتعلقة بالتراث والآثار في الأردن. تسعى هذه الفعالية إلى إشراك الطلاب والخريجين الجدد في مناقشة أحدث التطورات والموضوعات في ممارسات علم الآثار والتراث، بالتعاون مع مختصين مدعوين. تشمل الموضوعات: التراث الثقافي، الدراسات الأثرية، الحفظ، التوثيق، إدارة المواقع والمتاحف، الإرث المعماري والحضري وما إلى ذلك
